Orlando
slept all night in ignorance. He had been kissed by a queen without even knowing it.

He had become a woman.

No human being, since the world began , has ever looked so ravishing.

His form combined the strength of a man
and a woman's grace.

The change of sex, though it altered their future, did nothing to alter their identity.

The change seemed to have been accomplished mysteriously and effortlessly , in such a way that Orlando herself , showed no surprise at it.

On the seventh day of Orlando's trance ,
an obscurity descended so deep that nothing whatsoever could be seen through its opacity.

Two figures enter , each advancing towards the center where Orlando lies , still sleeping.

Here they cover Orlando with their draperies.
